Truro and Penwith Academy Trust is a supportive and collaborative organisation with one primary focus: the improvement of teaching and learning within Cornwall. The Academy Trust works with local schools to ensure that young people in Cornwall have access to the best possible learning experiences.
Truro and Penwith College has been recognised as one of the best tertiary colleges in the
country for education and training. The two campuses merged in 2008, with Penwith undergoing a £30 million redevelopment, resulting in rapid improvement in facilities and outcomes. Truro and Penwith College has a great deal of experience in supporting improvement, and their involvement in the Truro and Penwith Academy Trust as a sponsor to improving schools is a recognition of their commitment to
sustainable change in educational standards within the area.
The Academy Trust also works with Cornwall Teaching School, who provide
bespoke support to local schools and career progression opportunities for those working in the educational sector.
Cornwall is a unique region of the country, and the Academy Trust aims to nurture
the individuality of the schools within the trust, identifying the areas of strength and distinctive features of the local community in order to
promote sustainable improvement.
